REFLECTIONS

Experience
After taking typography class, I was exposed to a new environment and new perception. I was required to make work of a particular level of standard. The assignments given were challenging and restrictive which forced me to think creatively, in order to finish my assignments. My classes were often on the casual side, where my tutorial teacher would go around the class to review our work, and I found this often relaxing . The strict deadlines forced me to finish my work in time. The class environment was personally encouraging and motivational for me to work in. The students in my class also helped me out when I am facing difficulties. Overall I find this module extremely educational and eye-opening

Observation
Through this 14 weeks I have learned to be more sensitive to good and balanced typefaces and take more care into text formatting. I enjoyed working on my assignments as well looking at other's works. I observed that despite the effort I put into my work, It required further improvement and strengthening. I also observed that I prefer face to face feedback and classes compared to online feedback. I found the feedback provided by both my teachers and peers to be very helpful.

Findings
I found I have learned so much about typography, considering that I previously had 0 level of experience in it. I have found to enjoy typography over the weeks and now even encouraged to make my own fonts. I learned that the level of standard forced onto me was necessary for my improvement. Despite initially finding difficulty in my assignments, towards the end I have gotten the hang of it. I overall find this module a great addition to my learning process.
