ANIMATING PROCESS

Firstly I made five folders :- 01_COMP, 02_PSD, 03_AI, 04_AUDIO, 05_MOV. Then I imported the photoshop file and organized the layers into its respective folders.


Firstly, I decided to work on the stars. I decided to group the stars into 3 separate layers. I applied the opacity transform on all the 3 three layers from 100% to 0% and back to 100%. 


Then I decided to work on the butterflies. I first applied the scale transform on all of them from 90% to 100% to 110% and put it on loop. Then I applied position transform on them and made them move from up to down.


For the clouds I applied position transform and made it move left to right.


Then I decided to work on my image. I first separated myself from the canvas and other background elements and made it a separate layer. For me I put puppet pins around both my hands. I made both the hands move up and down by dragging the puppet pins. 


For the paint wavy element, I applied both the position and rotation transform. For the rotation transform I made it rotate from 20 degrees to 0 degrees to -20 degrees. I mainly used the position transform to make sure the paint wave element aligns with the brush bristles when its moving.


I also added puppet pins to the paint wave to add more movement to it. 


Finally I added the audio to the composition. and sliced the excess audio I didn't want.

REFLECTIONS

This week I worked on the animation part of my final assignment. It was challenging at first as I was barely familiar with the program. I had difficulty working with animating the photoshop layers in After Effects at first as there was too many unorganized layers. This forced me to go back to merge and organize the element layers in photoshop. In the start when I was editing the composition size, I had trouble resizing the elements while maintaining the same layout. But through a simple Youtube tutorial, I was able to fix it. Through the animation process I became more familiar with the transform feature in After Effects. I learned how to use puppet pins. I also learned how to add audio as well as cut layers. Overall this assignment was both educational as well as entertaining.
