WEEK 8 PROJECT 2B

For this week we were assigned our assignment 2 where we had to make a typographic poster which incorporates images and typography. We had to combine both the programs illustrator and adobe photoshop to do so.

References

Firstly before starting with my project 2, I decided to look at some references to get some inspiration

The references I gathered had a more simplistic design with minimal color palette. 

Sketches

The quote i decided to go with was “If you want to fly, give up everything that weighs you down.” ―Buddha. I decided do some sketches with this quote. 

I decided to go with this sketch

For my design i would like to incorporate the idea of the bird dropping the kettle bell which sinks into the sea. This represents the idea of the giving up everything that is weighing you down. I would like to incorporate blues into my color palette. The main elements I want to is the picture of the bird and the kettlebell. i would like the words 'give up everything that' to be in the background behind the sea and the words 'if you want to fly' to be in the foreground. I would like the word fly look very light and the word weigh to be bold and engraved on the kettle bell.

REFLECTIONS

This week I explored ideas for my poster by looking at Pinterest and did a few sketches to plan out my idea. I decided to go with the quote 'If you want to fly, give up everything that weighs you down' by Buddha. This week I learned composition techniques to better my composition for my poster.
