Week 1 Practical
For the lecture during the first week, our lecturer went through the basic of photoshop, why we need to learn it and what we can achieve with it. With photoshop we can express our creativity, create graphic designs, restore old images, integrate graphics with text in an artistic way, make use of brushes, change the photo color, rectify mistakes in photographs. We learned about Photo manipulation and digital imaging. Photo manipulation is the alteration or transformation of photograph. Digital imaging converts printed text, artwork, photographs into digital images using a digital scanner or another imaging device. He also provided us with necessary tips to become a successful graphic designer.

Description: This piece has high contrasting colors which makes it very readable and aesthetic. It also contributes to the energy of the message of the piece.
This Poster expressed : This poster visualizes the different art forms people use to express themselves. The high contrasting and saturated colors contribute to the intense energy of the piece. The font used for the title ‘Express Yourself’ further emphasis the message as well as the energy of the piece.

Description: The incorporation of the collage of different pictures to make a new combined picture is what actually drew me into this piece.
This Poster expressed: This collage was made using unused photos from their previous campaign to emphasize the sustainable nature of their company. The different layers of the image and different textures added, along with the pose and expression of the person contributes to the playfulness of the piece
